ABOUT AFTON FILMS

With decades of policymaking experience at the Minnesota State Capitol, John Kaul has now turned his attention to informing the public on the important issues of our time through documentary filmmaking and photography.

"The Wild and Scenic St. Croix," which premiered in June 2018, celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act and honors the visionaries who made it happen. It is a partnership between the St. Croix River Association, photographer Craig Blacklock and Twin Cities PBS.

In 2016, Kaul and Tom Reiter co-produced "Rebirth: the Mississippi's National Park," a partnership with Friends of the Mississippi River and Twin Cities PBS.

In 2015, Kaul produced "Madeline Island and the Art of the String Quartet."

Kaul is available for special events photography and portraits.
